Man, I'd try posting this in the Diesel Forum, too.
There are a lot of Diesel heads in Texas.

Randy - I work in downtown San Antonio. If I'm able, I can "eye-ball" it during the day on Friday. I have no knowledge of diesel, but can at least review cleanliness under-the-hood, body, paint, tires: overall condition.
Where is the car located?

Is this the blue 240D at All Texas Foreign? I haven't seen the car, but I dealt with those guys about a month ago. Very friendly and very helpful. Their primary business is as a salvage yard. I was there because they were parting out a 380SEL and I picked up a few parts for my 300SEL.
They have a handful of used cars for sale. At the time I was there, they had a burgandy 300D for sale. It was in fair shape. The sunroof was leaking and the paint had a lot of light scratches. I think the dash was cracked also, but they were only asking $1700. From the pictures of the 240D, it looks like the power antenna is stuck up (which is better than being stuck down). The left tailight is cracked. The right rear door has broken trim around the interior door handle. The show a really nasty picture of the dashboard and there's something wrong with the glovebox door too. The seats and carpet look like they are in really good condition. I wish the pictures were a better resolution to get a better idea about the paint. Still, it's well worth considering at that price.

Yes that's the 240D that my wife is interested in. It's good to know that these are decent guys. I spoke with them and they said the car was in storage for a while but it runs good. I asked if they thought it drive to Kansas City and they said that they thought it would if I took it easy.
Thanks for the input. Randy |

If anyone gets to check out this car in person, how about posting your findings here for the benefit of everyone. I am likewise interested in the car if the price does not get out of hand.

Can Do
I can and will check it out for you. I am not doing anything on Sat, except for taking the wife to work. I know a fair bit on the older models having worked for a M-B repair tech in Pipe Creek. I live in LakeHills. You can mail me via md2433@aol.com
