'90 300E differential vs. 300E 4matic

Does anyone know if the differential is different for a 300E 4matic from the non-4matic version? I think the back end on a 4matic is pretty much the same as in a non-4matic, but need to know about the diff., specifically.

I have a squealing diff in my 4matic and want to know if I must specify that it's 4matic in sourcing a new (or replacement) one. (I tried the heavier oil, but it was only a limited help.)

Thanks, in advance.

CB

I read something before about the old W124 4-matic before, the rear differential and center differential on 4-matic can be automatically locked according to the speed and slippage.

So I don't think 4-matic's rear locking differential is interchangeable with the one from RWD 300E.
