I was wondering how I can remove the trim that covers the compartment that once held the integrated phone handset in a 95 S 500? I have read old posts but they generally refer to the handset itself, not the trim that covers the compartment. I would like to remove this trim piece and make one out of burl wood but am having a devil of a time figuring out how to take off the trim without disassembling the dash.

The trim piece is fastened via two hex bolts from underneath. If you can remove them, you should be able to lift off the piece with no problems. However, it might be difficult to align the bolts back up once you do remove it as the space if very tight.
