About 1,000 miles ago I had a cylinder head
gasket blow. The dealer rebuilt the whole top end of the motor. Yesterday I noticed that the oil guage dipped to 30 psi then ticked below that level. This was going up a hill. I found out that there was no oil the motor. The dipstick was dry. Took it to the dealer this morning to check it out. Do I need to worry?, there was always oil pressure at 45 psi when above idle. Thanks, Matthew |

The diesel will burn oil all day long without hurting the engine. You just have to keep it full. Check it when you fill up the fuel tank or every other time. Just keep it full of oil to avoid major enigne damage. The dealer is only responsible for the oil comsupiton if it is coming from the valve guides. If it is the bottom end, it should be on your dime. Sorry. My advise is to keep an eye on the level and let it ride! Good luck.
