Schtarman,

If you think the 3.8 MB V8 has the same power as a slant six, then you have clearly never driven a 3.8.

380SEGUY,

Thanks for the great post. I agree, with just a little effort, the 3.8 could be put in great shape. IMHO it would be much less effort/expense than swapping in an engine of a simple, 48 year old design.

PaulC,

If I read your post correctly, you believe that a BB Chevy will bolt to an MB auto transmission? Forget it. Even if it did, the transmissions life could be measured in milliseconds.

Have a great day,

Please accept my apologies, those who are sensitive to my fececious ramblings. Having done a few V-6, V-8 conversions on Jeeps where proper mounts etc ARE available, IMHO it would be more trouble and $$$$ than it would be worth to make the conversion that started this thread

Good lawd.. what are you guys thinking about? Just sell the DAMN car if your having so many problems. find someone who will appreciate the car and sell it to them. I know talk is cheap, but either:
- you're a unemployed engineer with lots of time on your hands,
- you have a family member or close friend that its the above category,
- or you folks are contributing to the world-wide drug problem fund that is used to buy arms by the drug lords and Al-Quaeda.
