I am in need of a shop manual (in English) for a Euro-spec 1979 450SLC. I located one while over-seas, but am unable to effectively translate German. Does anyone know where one of these would be available, as my local dealership was unable to help me.

Try Ebay, I have seen service manuals for sale there. Chiltons Total Car Care #48300 repair manual would be another option, but it probably is missing a lot of detail. It lists specs. etc. but has been written in general terms to cover all '74 to '84 MB cars.

There are very minor spec. differences from the U.S. to euro models, even though the US cars had more emission related items. So try the R107 CD that MBUSA has published. It should have everything you need. I think that PartsShop can help you.

Finding a manual right now might be difficult to do. MB is in the process of converting all printed material over to CD-ROM format.

Thanks to all those who gave advice. Guess I'll be buying a cd rom new pay day. Quick follow up. Don't want to seem ignorant, but could someone tell me what chassis designation my '79 450SLC Euro-spec has. This would help me in surfing through the various postings. Anywhere that I could go on web to find out various chassis designations? Also, does anyone know factory ratings for my vehicle?
