ML disigner option
 

I am contemplating buying an new ML 500. The designer option seems very expensive unless there is more than described on the Mercedes web page. Possibly the paint is different. Any comments appreciated.

I think you mean the "designo" edition (pronounced I believe "dee-zin-yo". Yes, the paint, interior color, color of the stitching, and color/type of wood that is used is different than what is normally available. Mechanically I believe they are the same, although I think there is sometimes an extra option or 2 thrown in with the designo editions.
