Larry, Many people don't realize that a magneto is a point system... just way more reliable than anything else I know of...
On your dampness problem.... most coils are sealed... so I doubt that is your dampness problem... much more likely it is condensation under your distributor cap.... |

Getting back to the original thread I'll have to weigh in with the 190SL. The only auxillary electric motor in the car runs the stationary defroster. Heat for the car is ram air.

Easiest one I had to work on was my 1959 190b. You could almost get in the engine compartment with the thing to work on it. You can actually see the ground around the engine when looking under the hood.
