Any connection between Alarm system and trunk lock ?

Hi everyone:

Reference : 84 380 SE

The way I understand it, the Alarm system has no relation with the vacuum operated central locking system.

When armed, the alarm system just ensures that the horn sounds when the doors or trunk is opened. The central locking system, on the other hand, operates the vacuum pump and the actual physical locks on the doors , the fuel flap and the trunk.

Is it possible that the Theft alarm system also operates a physical lock (an additional one ) on the trunk ?

Thanks,

Amit

The 1984 cars with alarm (W126) have an electro-magnetic lock that will keep the trunk locked as well as central locking.

To release the electromagnetic lock ?

How can you disable the electromagnetic lock - but only after making it release the lock ?
