Hi
I have an 1989 230TE 8 valve, with Bosch K Jetronic, or maybe its KE, I cant set the idle or CO, to give a smooth idle, I have a CO meter and tacho, I found the mixture control, and what I figure is the idle air adjustment on the motorised idle speed air valve (a small castelated knob ?)nested between tubes 3 & 4 of the manifold Do I have to " defeat "the idle speed air valve to make the settings ? I look forward to any " Top tips " Best regards Steve |

If you are attempting to set the CO after the catalytic converter, that is your problem. The cat is eating most of the CO you are trying to measure and you are trying to get the mixture very rich to overcome the cat. Set the CO with a lambda meter.
