What is Part # for Insert underneath lug nut?
83/85 240D What is Part # for insert underneath lug nut?

Between the lug nut and the aluminum wheel on an 83 to 85 240D/300D there is a well-shaped insert. The lug nut presses against the insert to hold the tire on. Most of the time you barely notice this insert because its pressed in and never pops out. Unfortunately three of mine did when I bought new tires and now I cant find them. I cant drive the car now.
Does anyone know the Part Number for this item and how I might order it?

Thank you

Non-OEM possibility
I'm not sure what you have (or had), but if your lugnuts/lugbolts have a conical seat and your wheels have ball seats, there's a washer available to make the connection secure:

Click on "Conversion" as the washer type to see what I'm talking about. There are other washer types at the same site if that's not your problem.

FWIW, I asked Luke of TireRack about using conversion washers with a set of conical seat wheel locks (with 12mm ball seat alloy wheels), and he said there shouldn't be a problem with them in that application at least.

The original inserts are part of the wheel assy and can't be purchased separately from MB.

Three suggestions:
1. Get a ruined rim from a junkyard and then have someone with a good hydraulic press and considerable skill press them out of the junk rim and into your good one.

2. I have seen them on the websites of some of those companies which advertise custom lug nuts and bolts and spacers, etc., etc. Do a search with "lug bolts." I'm sorry, but I don't have time to search it out for you right now.

3. Look in _Autoweek_ or _Road and Track_ for ads from places which repair expensive rims; call and see if they can supply you with what you need, either new or used.
