300E Door Handles
The door handles on my 300E are faded. My question is can I restore the handles or is it best just to purchase 4 new ones. 13 plus years of heat and elements has took its tole.

If you do a search on this site you will find a lot of discussion on this topic.
Believe it or not a lot of members recommend using peanut butter! (It is the oil). Also, there are after market products that will help, such as I believe it is called Black Chrome (?) or something similar. It is to restore discolored plastic pieces. Often, several applications are required with vigorous rubbing to get the heavy layer of old plastic off. I have used the Black Chrome (?) with good success. Haasman

honest, no bull. TRY p-nut butter, it really works. if you are skeptical try just a smidge on one spot. rub it in. let us know what you think. peter

I can understand the principle of using peanut oil to restore the handles - but does it last? I'll try it tonight as my door handles are faded as well.
My girlfriend is gonna think I've lost it...

Use black Turtle Wax. It works. I use it on all black parts including the bumper strips. It's easy, and lasts.

I forgot to add that the Turtle Wax is not a good wax on the body. Works great only on the black rubber components.

I used a product called "Back to Black" which restores black rubber and plastic which has faded to gray. It's actually a dye, which has lasted so far, about 5 months and is still looking good.

Door Handles
I use Mothers "Back to Black" whick comes in a red bottle. It turned my faded gray handles, well...back to black. It needs to be re-applied every six months or so but a bottle will last a lifetime and you don't have to worry about squirrels eating your door handles as with peanut butter.
