My 190E tranmission encounter problem when it shift from 2 to 3 gear, the car rev up and then a hard pull when it shift. 1 to 2 and 3 to 4 is perfect. Oil level checked.
Appreicate for some help...Is it time
for overhaul or just some minor repair ?
Thanks

If you are having a problem with one shift then the problem is internal. The 2-3 involves application of k-1 clutch pack. There are teflon seals between the front pump housing & the clutch drum, bet they are worn & allowing the clutches to slip.

Thanks MB DOC, Just wonder how long
it take for a mechanic to get this repair
and what is the average cost ? I assume
something internal require a overhaul.
Thanks again.

It depends. Some will want to repair transmissions in house. Others will outsource. Just look around and choose what is best for you. FYI. If you are going to keep it for a lot longer, get a reman unit. Think about the other parts, they are worn too.

Thanks Benzmac, I sent it to local Merc
workshop yesterday and they can only confirm the cost after tearing the transmission apart. They need about 3 days and it will
be very expensive if the valve body need to
be replace.

I got the tranny repair and replaced
most of the part except valve body.
now the car won;t slip anymore but
a hard pull when it shift from 2 to 3.
the others are all perfect. Oil level
check, pressure check and vacuum check.
What else could it be ? The shop advise
to clean the valve body again. What do
you think ?
Thanks.

Problem resolved and the solution issssssssssss the VALVE BODY.
Since no repair kit for it, I have
to replace it which cost big $$$.
Thanks
