wierd warning light in dash - 300E
Hello everyone!
I am so happy because I just installed a Infinity BassLink in my 86 300E... however, now I have a problem that has just surfaced after installing the sub: On the lower right side of the instrument cluster under the clock there is a red unused (by that I mean un-labeled) warning light that will light on and off intermittently. It is on more so when the car has just been started or before driving it for 5 minutes or so. This makes me think it has something to do with the battery... Anyone heard of this? Any comments or ideas are greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! Jerry

Does anyone have any ideas here???
The mysterious problem light is between the SRS light and the O2 sensor... it flickers on and off like crazy. Thanks! Jerry

What about the rest of the lights?
Turn the key but do not start the car. Are all the lights on? Are you missing anything? My guess would be that somehow the cluster lights were not put back in the correct order.

Thanks J.HIDALGO for suggesting the obvious... you were right! It turns out that my anti-lock light has been the one flashing.
I already killed my battery once after installing the basslink so I guess it's time for a new battery. I installed the basslink with a monster cable kit- should I have taken any other precautions? My problem is that the Nakamichi CD-45z deck does not have an actual on/off switch so even when I am not playing music (and the car is on) there is power going to the amp on the basslink. I am currently considering different switch options to turn off the basslink from the front seat... Thanks! Jerry

Several options here. You have a power antenna right? What energizes it so it goes up? You must have something there, you can use that wire to turn the basslink on/off. I find it also hard to believe that any deck would not have a 12 volt switched source, even the stock Bekker deck has one (for the antenna). You should re-visit the owners manual and look for a switched 12 volt lead from your head unit or look into what is powering the antenna.
