Shift lever light
 

Can someone with a 92 or earlier E Class tell me if your PRND.... has a lighted [_] surrounding the letter when the lever is moved to the appropriate gear. My 92 400E does not have this feature, but my 93 500E does. Just trying to see if the lights out on the 92 or if this feature wasn't added till 93

The light is out. The gear selector has been lit for a long time. Certainly for the entire W124 line.
