Polterguist or Wiring Harness

I've got a 94 e320.
Here is the problem:

When a person sitting in the front passenger seat pushes down on the floor about where the break pedal would be if he / she was driving in England, the throttle is cut.

That is, if the pressure is applied and I try to start from a start, the car lurches forward and the engine bounces between about 1000 and 1500 RPM.

If I am cruising when pressure is applied, it's like I let off the throttle.

Keep in mind, that in neither situation does the car stall or shut off.

Is the car's computer located under this location?

I'm scared this is a sign of worse things to come.

Thanks.

I haven't seen many internal wire problems. I would pull the carpet back and see if there is a pinched wire behind the panel.

Yea, from what I've read it sounds like I've got the problem that the "wiring harness recall" was actaully addressing.

I'm the third owner of this car and it's got about 140k miles on it. I'm not sure if a dealer will still honor the repair.

This is my third benz and I'm yet to ever take one to a dealer for anything. There really isn't any reason for one to the the repair free of charge.

I guess it's worth a shot.

FYI: I have lifted the floor panel and nothing looked like it was getting pinched or brittle. I guess I'll take another look.
