w126 monovalve identity (?) partsshop ?
My 1989 300SE has no heat (climate control works fine) and I suspect the monovalve.
Apparently there is an insert which can be replaced if the diaphram is ripped.I located what seems like the monovalve. Facing the battery, to the right of it behind a firewall. I see this silver color square plate with a small cylinder in the middle and a small harness plug. Four screws hold the plate down. If this is it, are there any precautions to take for removal? I hope partsshop has the insert. thanks Happy Holidays |

This URL might help with replacement of the monovalve insert:
http://mbdieseldiy.tripod.com/monovalve.htm Be sure that you get the small silvery-looking plate on top(4 screws) snugged down good; otherwise, you'll lose coolant. |
Next stop, partsshop
Thanks heaps Mike and Mike!!
With this info I am sure of the identity and how to safely proceed!! Mike Tangas, I was thinking about you the other day because I still have to replace the grill of my W123. Spring time project! Happy Holidays. Denis |
I'm just waiting patiently for the pictures ;).
Shoot, if we wait long enough I'll be making 3-4 trips to the Sac area next year, maybe I'll just have to shoot on over and bolt it up for you :p LOL. |
HOUSE CALLS

Well, thanks to Fast Lane, I received the monovalve (and a new hood star) in one day.
I have heat now, thank goodness. Thanks again Mike for the needed repair instruction web-link. Denis |
