Ok....this might piss you guys off but i found out today that you can no longer buy replacement front light lenses from Mercedes. Apparently, it's illegal to sell replacement lenses in Canada. (Dealer told me that) I just had to buy a whole housing for my C36. Lucky i got it from a Benz Autoshop and sold the whole housing less then the cost of a replacement lens.

I would have bought it online but the crack on my lens is so bad, if a little pebble hit it it would shatter since it's glass. I needed a replacement right away.

So for all you Canadian Benz owner's, go buy a pair of replacement lenses now as a safety back up, buying the whole light unit cost more then twice the price of the lens itself.

Wondering if anyone in the USA has tried recently to get a replacement fog light lens. Mine has a crack in it and I *assumed* that a new one would be readily available. I don't want to spend big $$ for a new assembly, and then I'd be tempted to go to the Euro style.

I believe all lenses are available except the glass ones that incorporate the fog light and the headlight into one assy. Why are they not all available????? Because of money....big money. The light manufacturers had the assy's tested, but not the lenses. You can get the lenses on the gray market and they are exactly the same part #, but no Dot cert. stamp. The manufaturer would rather you spend the money on the whole thing.

No problem Chris. keep in mind to actually have the lenses. if you think to yourself that you'll buy them when you need to replace them, then you have to get them online, you'll have to wait days maybe weeks for them while you need the lenses now. There is a place where they still do stock the lenses in Toronto...forgot what it was called but call around for some shops that deal with european cars.

DON'T FORGET, DON'T GET ANYTHING THAT'S NOT BOSCH!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck :)
