Does anyone know if the recall for SL subframes pertains to us quirky individuals that bought SLCs? The chassis' are similar, so I figure that my car may contain the same subframe. The only problem now is that my car is a gray market vehicle, and therefore the dealership does not have to perform recall work (correct me if I'm wrong)

Apparently it does apply to us lucky SLC owners! My local dealer is checking VIN number for applicability for my 1978 280 SLC (2.8L 6 with manual trans.)

The recall was for U.S. 450sl models! Any other cars that break the subframe sometimes can be covered by "Goodwill" policy. It's up to factory svc. rep. in your area.
