EPA cautioned that barrier hoses must be used if converting R406a,a R12 replacement.
My AC tech says newer hoses are already safe, therefore he just charged my AC,seems to be working ok.
Are newer hoses safe as barrier hoses? After what year? Many thanks
Tom

Since 1982 the a/c hoses should be capable of the conversion. However many other componets aren't.
