i have a 1989 300e and i was wondering if i could change my faded exterior door handles with say those of a 94 e320 (black & Chrome)or similar? could i use the same internal hardware? expensive? any responses would be greatly appreciated

I am sure it is a bolt in replacement. You may find them in a junk yard. You will have to get the locks re-keyed.
