190E '87: Does anybody know if ...
... a 1987 190E 2.3 came with an under engine "encapsualtion" tray?
My daughters project car is missing one. I wasn't sure if the 4 cylinder cars needed it. I saw the attachment fittings underneath today while working on it. Haasman

I'd bet a buck it did.
If I'm not mistaken, your daughters car is equipped with an M102 motor. That motor is simpy 2/3's of an M103 motor - more or less the same engine minus 2 cyls. If I'm wrong, then I've got to believe you have a 103 motor. The M103's have a fairly large encapsulation piece underneath. Some are affixed with 4 small metal screws(bolts) with an 8mm head. I seem to recall reading on a CD-Rom that the 103 motors in the 124 cars have more than 4 bolts holding the encapsulation panel to the car. You might search around this sites FASTLANE or one of the other WEB parts providers to see if they stock one.

Thanks for the reply. Our '91 300E definitely has the panel. Your suggestion regarding searching Fastlane parts is a good one. Haasman
