White Cloud out exhaust on 1985 380SL
I would like to find out why there is a white cloud with an excessive smell of gas out the exhaust when I start the car. A very very large cloud and an excessive smell of raw fuel. Thank you.

a white cloud is usually steam/water. typical at start up ,but you might have a head gasket going. get it checked asap.

This happened to me and it was a cracked head. But it smoked
all the time not only at start up. |
the crack might enlarge as the head heats up.
