'87 300D engine into '87 300SDL
I may have the chance to get a '87 300SDL with a blown motor (ran out of oil). I have a parts car with a '87 300D. Will they swap, what if any, needs to be changed? We are talking MB engines 603.960 and 603.961 here.
Thanks!

As far as I know nothing has to be changed other than the brackets that hang off the block to connect to the engine mounts. Maybe the fan as well.
You shouldn't need anything you won't have if you have parts from both cars available to you. I wouldn't try to run the 124 transmission in the 126. Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |
