98 C230 Instrument panel lights
Half of my odometer reading on my car seems to have burned out. Can I replace the bulbs or do I need to replace something else? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

DIY: Go to your dealer and buy the cluster pulling tools. Cheap and work well. If you don't have an adjustable steering wheel, it might be easier to take the wheel off, but it can be done with the wheel in place.
You use the tools to hook the cluster on each side at the top, and pull it out. Be VERY careful, as you can snap the cluster doing it, and you don't want to ask how much that might be depending on what breaks. Replace ALL the bulbs, as you don't want to have go back in anytime soon. I did it on both the C230 and the E300, the E300 was easier as it had the adjustable steering wheel, unlike my C230. Not a bad job. OR: My local dealer charges an hour plus parts to do it. It's the easy route, but means being a little lighter in 'ol bank account.
