When the drivers side power seat is adjusted for me (pretty much bottomed out, pretty far back) it tilts back about 3/4" during acceleration, and rocks forward during braking. It also seems to sit lower on the inboard side. The seat doesn't rock when adjusted for my wife (about middle height, middle of front back range), and seems to be level. Is this likely to be a mechanism problem, or a problem with the bolts holding the seat to the floor.

Also, is there an easy way to get more lateral support from the seats, or do they need to be replaced with something else?

Thanks for any suggestions.

My 88 300e does the same thing.

It probably has loose bolts that connect the seat back to the bottom. Or the main attachment bolts are loose.

My bottom seat cushion has too much "sag" when I sit on it. I suspect broken springs. Is this a repair that can be done by a good tech or does the cost get prohibitive (i.e. should I just live with having to keep my seat bottom cushion inclined all the way "down" to keep the front in the right position?

Is this a good weekend project for a novice or are there special upholstering skills needed? In other words, I don't want to break (or tear) something that's just worn. Can individual springs in the seat cushions be replaced? All of my seats are like this to some degree. Thanks in advance,
