I've used a good bit of moleskin. It's made for your feet. It's like dense felt that is adhesive on one side and very sticky, ie. sticks well. It's real use is for blisters, esp. during backpacking. I first used it in Boy Scouts. You stick it over your blister and it takes the friction instead of your skin. You should be able to find it anywhere that sells foot amenities like powder, insoles, and blister helpers. Any drug store should have it. It will probably solve your problem and is a creative solution.

Window tint--moleskin??
 

My 2000 S500 is scratching the tint on my drivers side window, and it has been suggested that "moleskin" be put on the rollers or guides. What is moleskin, where do you get it and what do you put it on? Thank you

crankin, it is TYPICALLY used as a protective layer to prevent further blistering on feet by hikers. you can get it at a drugstore or sporting goods,

but... i would try to find what is causing the "stratching". is it to the window itself, or to a tint film that was applied later? if film, i would go to a GOOD tinting service and have them find the root cause of the problem. if it is film, it is most likely already ruined and should be removed or replaced. a GOOD tint shop will warranty their work, and will eliminate the problem before reapplying or not offer to do the job. a GOOD tint job will be approx $200-$300.

Thanks for the info. It is the tint only that is getting scratched. From checking other MB sites, this is a common problem on the S classes, and this moleskin stuff was recommended to prevent it.
I did not want to have to remove the door panel though, but now will have to. Apparently the clearences are very tight on the windows and the extra thickness of the tint gets scratched by the seal or something.
