Decided to remove the cross yoke on my 74 450SE and replace bushings. What should have been a simple job is now a head scratcher! The eccentric bolt on the passenger side has insufficient clearance to be removed, consequently the yoke is held by the bolt. There is a welded on bracket holding a suspension pivot and the ground for the starter. I tried moving the yoke in all directions but can't find room to remove the bolt. Am I missing something?

You are probably talking about the idler arm bushings from the description of where it is located. You have to take the nut off the bottom of the bolt and take the bushings out with the arm still in place. When you do this you will have enough room to snake it out. Reinstall in the same fashon. Load the bolt into the idler arm and place the top bushing onto the bolt as well. Now put it in place and use the bolt to pull it in.

I am referring to the rear eccentric bolt which controls the caster adjustment and holds the lower control arm. The eccentric bolt on the passenger side cannot be removed due to interference from the pitman arm. I am trying to remove the bushings that connect to the frame. As I view the manual, it appears the eccentric bolts are installed rear to front. Mine are installed front to rear, which is the problem. Which is correct?
