Question 190E 2.6 Strut Cartridge

Hello all, I ordered some front koni struts for my MB, and when I received them, they were cartridges. The came with some strait forward instructions. Does anyone have any info on the procedure? It looks as if the top needs to be cut off the old strut, and the new one installed in the old tube. Any help would be greatly appreciated, John

That doesn't sound right. I think the Koni part number for the front W201 struts (stock, not adjustable) is 8741-1092 and I didn't think that they were rebuildable via a cartridge, but hey it could be a "new" thing.

checked Koni's web site, that doesn't match any W201 applicaition, although the first set of numbers does indicate a replacement cartridge for various models.

Thanks, I just e-mailed KONI to make sure they are correct before I begin to install them.
