W126 Sideskirts and colour-coding

Hello everyone,

I have a 1985 380SE in Nautical Blue with the ribbed grey sideskirts. Has anyone with a pre-'85 W126:

a) changed to the later style flat skirts
b) colour coded the skirts
c) done both

Pictures and / or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
