I have a 250 with zenith carbs, I have one carb running exrta rich and another running
extra lean. I'm looking for simple adjustment
information and how to go about doing it. the car does not have emission controls like later versions. Anyone with good info please
help these carbs are a real pain. Thanks

All of these cars have idle mixture adjustment screws. If one is running lean you should see if there is a vacuum leak at the base of the carb. Running rich is another thing, check to see if the choke is opening all of the way.

To start, I would disconnect the linkage between the 2 carbs, to be sure they are both at the throttle stop. Also, there is a small hole in the casting on the top of the carb, at the base of one of the 'bulges' that is the idle air bleed hole. I remember plugging that hole with my pen tip, and if the idle did not change, then the top of the carb is warped (some one overtightned the air filter housing wingnuts.

Good luck...

You can use one of the air flow syncro
meters on these carbs by cutting a small hole in the bottom of a couple of Marshmellow
Fluff or whipped cream containers with the right lid size to fit over the top of the carbs. Then you can balance them out to
perfection.
Can also do it with a hose in your ear and listening close to the throats for comparison
