Where can I find a dustless brake pad.
I have used pbr brand on my volvo
and they worked great very little dust.
I would like to stay away from those brake shields.
does MB offer any? if so does your part shop carry them?

We only recommend the OE pads because any other ones will squeak!!
Do not use dust sheilds.

Try Mintex pads. They generate much less dust, works well when cold, no sqeels, and less expensive than stock. Brake paddle pressure is about the same as stock and has equal or better performance. Do not use brake sheld, they will cause rotor warpage.

I asked my independent MB shop pull my Kleen Wheels off of my SD's 15" wheels. The mechanic asked me "mind if I ask why you want those removed?" and I replied heat build up, caliper damage, warpage, etc. He seemed surprised, saying that he never heard of this.

Anyway, mine are no longer on my car, and are for sale (make offer?)... I'd rather see brake dust on my front wheels, knowing they won't fade on a fast run down a mountain, etc. Some people on the Mercedes newsgroup swear by the things, but they do admit to not pushing their cars much either.

Brake Parts Warehouse(link from Brickboard) offers the PBR Deluxe pads for 300E for 37.5 per axle plus freight.I too have a Volvo and bought from IPD and am impressed with their for Volvo pads,no squeal or dust.It does contain asbestos.Unfortunately IPD does not sell for MB pads.

If I were you, I'd just stick with the Ate original pads. They are the best you can use in my opinion. To prevent squeal to a degree, make sure you use original MB anti squeal/sieze paste on the backings. It comes in little packets. One packet is good for two front pads. Use it 1/2 and 1/2 on each pad for each side.

Use the OEM pads and try using a chemical called P21S to clean the wheels. The stuff works very well. Also using a good car wax on the wheels will help to keep from having the brake dust sticking to them.
