I just purchased this car which has 60K miles. Cold ignition & idle seem normal, but during the first few minutes, the car hesitates when I try to accelerate from a stand-still (not hard acceleration, just normal city driving). It doesn't stall; the pick-up just seems to be a couple of seconds late. This is quite dangerous when it happens at an intersection. But once the car is warmed up, the problem is gone. What is likely at fault? Thanks.

The overvoltage relay could cause this because it sends the power to the ECU.

Check the overload relay fuse first, if it is ok. The fuel pressures need to be checked. The lower chamber pressure is critical to cold transistion performance. This is advanced level work and requires a Tech that had experience with this fuel system. Good Luck

Thanks for your advice, Benzmac & Corky. With your tips in mind, I would take the car to a pro. Would write back to report how the repair turns out.
