What tranny oil for 16V 5-speed???

I would like to switch over to Redline transmission oil but am somewhat confused over what grade to lose. The manual only says "Automatic Transmission fluid for Manual transmissions" Can I use MTL type which is supposed to be 70W80 GL-4 gear oil (SAE 5W30/10W30 engine oil viscosity) or should I go with synthetic ATF or D4 ATF. I know that an E36 M3 manual transmission went with D4 ATF, but I'm not sure if that is the correct one for the Getrag 5-speed in my car. Please advise.

Link to Redline Oils

Thanks for the help,
Giancarlo

I run redline MTL in my 16V racecar, tried Mobil 1 ATF first but the fluid temp was way too high after 40-50 miles of racing.
MB installed a straight weight "oil" from the factory but now reccomends TYPE A ATF & that is what you will get at dealer for about $17 for .5 liter.

Thanks MB DOC,

I'm going with the MTL.
