E300TD (W210) Engine Vibration

Should I be able to feel any engine vibration at all through the steering wheel at idle on an E300TD? If not, then I guess I need to renew some mountings. 2 x engine and 1 x transmission are obvious candidates but I've read somwhere about a steering damper. What's that? Any other mountings I should consider (assuming teh vibration is not normal)? MIne's done 77k by the way.

Cheers.

engine vibes

mine has done around 71K miles and at idle I can't feel anything other than a very slight buzz on the steering wheel. Would'nt describe it as vibration by any stretch of the imagination.

I am signing on to this to see how this turns out. This car does eat up motor mounts. I need to do mine right now. Please post as to what your problem turns out to be.

Have a great day

True. Most W210 diesel owners I've talked to have replaced motor mounts under 100K-miles.
