How to remove a water pump on a 300CE?
Would like to know the procedure on removing the water pump on a '91 300CE. I know Allen did it on a 560sel.

Search this forum, there is loads of useful info and complete procedures to read.
Check what sort of bolt is holding the pump to the block, if it is a normal hex head bolt, then purchase a Snap-On FLXM13. ....or accept it is a lousy 6 hour job and pay someone to do it for you. Richard

Well, I figure much more than a 6 hour job, considering I would be going at it for the first time. I do know its on the side of the block, but its difficult to see it, let alone take it down. It looks like I need to remove other parts just to get to it. Looks like a real bugger.
About the search, I didn't get anything. Well have to keep at it. |

Those can be fun.
Hex head 6mm holding it to the block. They can be crusty and tough to remove, swap 'em with 13mm head bolts in install. Gotta pull the belt, shock, tensioner and support bracket which involves removing the waterpump and p/s pulleys. easiest way to get the pump out of the hole is tweak the tensioner adjuster bracket rearward and snake the pump out the front. Whats scary is how easy they are with the heads off and how tough the 201 with a 103 can be. Joe
