Noisy fan W126 - are there inexpensive solutions

Hello fellow Mercedes lovers,

It seems that my fan is suite noisy why I want to fix it. Itīs the fan on the rear side of the cooler and the sound is a metallic irregular tin can rattling sound - as if thereīs something.

Is there anyone that have any good ideas on how I could fix this without spending a fortune.

Best regards,

One thing to try is to lubricate the blower motor bearings with ATF.

Are you talking about the engine driven fan on the engine side of the radiator? That sound might be the fan scraping against the radiator or the pulleys on the front of the engine.
