I am putting a 16valve tranny in a 91 2.3. The only uncertainty I have is the speedometer. 86 /16 valves had 140mph/ 87 16valves had 160 mph. Will the tranny work with the 91 2.3 valve speedo... what about the hall effect sensor for the cruise control? I won't melt any electronics will I?

I can't help you with the speedo swap, but the change will not affect the hall effect sensor. I believe there is one signal to the cruise control and another to the CIS-E ECU, it is for the idle control valve circuit. That I know because on soome models if the speedo cable is broken the engine will stall when slowing to a stop. Been there, fixed that...
