euro cruise control actuator
Does anyone know anything about the european cruise control actuators? They started putting them in the euro cars at the end of 87 when the engines received a bump in power and Jack Middlebrook has it on his euro 300HP 560 engine. Scroll down about 3/4 of the way to the shot of the engine and you can see it. What is different about it and is it necessary to get it when installing a higher compression euro motor?

A little bit off topic, but I was wondering if a US engine can be modified to Euro spec, getting the full potential 300HP in the 560? Would it be very costly?

Well you couldn't simply "modify" it, since the 300HP version has 10:1 compression as opposed to 9:1 for all US motors. So you would have to have a euro motor actually built...pretty much from the ground up. Check out www.mercedesengines.net. They supposedly don't do it, but I have heard many times that if you shell out a few extra hundred dollars they will indeed build you a euro engine. Go to the site and you can also get an idea of price. Also...do a search on this topic, many have written on it before.
