changing oil on a C 280 - first time - please advise

I change the oil on my other vechicles all the time but have never done it on my 96' C 280. Any special things I need to know about? Can someone list a step by step?

Just want to make sure I do it right - on my Land Rover you have to make sure the oil pump stays primed by draining the oil first , refilling the crankcase and then the filter.

Anything like this on a benz? What filter is recommended. Thanks in advance.

easy as pie...

Mann, Knecht, or Hengst are the approved OEM filter brands and I think most here will say is the only choice of filters for MB's. These will come with the neccessary gaskets/washers that need to be replaced. Get them at an indie shop or a imports parts shop as the blue filters stmped with the MB-star from the dealer will cost you double (like $12) even thought they're made by Mann (or Knecht, I forget which).

Other than that, I know of no Benz whose oil doesn't change like any other car (certainly not like you Range Rover sounds ). I crack the oil filler cap so the oil doesn't blast out the drain plug too far, then: drain, remove old filter, replace drain plug, replace new filter, and fill'er up!

Regards,
- Ryan
