Is my dealer joshing me?
The other day I was griping about not having an oil pressure gauge in my C230. Heck, the light is for level only, not pressure.
The dealer insists that the car's computer system has some low oil pressure fail safe systems. Does anyone know if this true? Seems a little fishy to me. |
Have you looked in the manual? I thought they had a idiot light for both pressure and level. On my 87 190 the light just lookes like a oil can and lights up orange when it is low. I have a guage for presure and temp.

The C230 (W202) has no pressure gauge. Dropped it on the 202 and 210- series cars.
My light is for oil level only, not for pressure. The 190E has only a level warning light, but it does have the pressure gauge. |
All of the "NEW" model MB's are w/o an oil pressure guage.
The engines have no provision for testing oil pressure. SO the dealer was feeding you some "bull". |
Thanks DOC...
I thought something was a little "stanky..." |
Sure..the oil pressure is fun to look at when in pins in acceleration but MB has decided that the less gauges the better. If you ever register 0 PSI while driving, most likely the engine will die soon. But, I still miss it.
