i was reading an article about purchasing an SEC, they warned not to ignore a fast idle, because of vacuum pipes and control units.

now i have a W123 200T, which is very different but does suffer from a fast idle that i can't seem to slow down.

could anyone tell me, if this is a problem that needs to be addressed or in the case of my car, not really a problem so much as a nuisance.

The fuel system of an SEC (Bosch KE-Jetronic) is very different from the fuel system (Stromberg 175?) in a 200T.

I don't know if a fast idle is detrimental to a 200T. I didn't even know it was detrimental to an SEC.

i don't know what is going on with my idle but the accelerator bit doesn't actually touch the adjustment bit....it just seems to be able to sense the gap and then moves of its own accord. So i have made the assumption that there's some sort of vacuum thing going on! that's why i thought i would put it to the panel.

sounds weird but makes sense to me.....
