124 Muffler Hangers- Hard or Soft?

Rear muffler broke off today.
Fastlane is offering up 'Hard Compound' donut hangers and 'Soft Compound' donut hangers.
What's with that?

I order rubber from the dealer. The donuts I got are soft and pliable, compared to the stiffer, harder mount that secures the exhaust to the subframe.
