I have seen posts here referring to trap oxidizer replacements on 300 SDl's. Does the 350 have a trap oxidizer, should it be replaced. I am the original owner of a 1991 350 SDL, was there a recall on this?

Yes there was a recall on those 603 diesels that came equipped with trap oxidizers. I think MB should still honor the replacement. They remove the trap and install a catalyst under the car. Those trap oxidizers were known to send bits and pieces of themselves into turbos and burn them up as well as the engines. Go to your local MB dealer and check on that warranty situation.

350 Diesels don't have the trap oxidizer.

Yes you would be correct. I am sorry, I read the message as 300SDL. The 350 Diesels were not equipped with a trap.
