I recently got a 94 E320 wagon with 92K miles on it. It was given the 90K major maintenance before I got it. A week ago the break pad wear indicator lamp was flickering but has not lit up fully when I put the breaks on. The flickering went away and today has come back. But after I stopped to visit a friend it went away again. The front pads has been changed in Aug 2002. The wire harness has been changed a year ago, so I don't think that might be the problem. Is this something I should worry about?

The most likely thing is that your front brake pads are worn down to the sensors.

When you first get worn down to the sensors, the light often flickers. It can also go away for awhile as you have experienced. Then it will be more regular and persistent as you really get fully worn down to the sensor.

Sounds like normal wear indicator behavior to me. Better pull a wheel and check them. If you replaced them in August, I'd be curious as to how many miles you put on it since. Either you drive a lot, drive like a fiend, or you have a sticking caliper.

If you DIY, (check the DIY block on top of this page) is just the cost of the pads and the sensors. You can get them at Fast Lane.
If a pro does it, add $100-200 plus the materials.
