300e fan blade noise Please help
 

my 87 300e has developed this helicopter propeller blade sound coming from the front of the engine. The fan moves freely and doesn't rub against anything. The sound seems to be getting louder to where I can sit at a traffic light and hear it inside the cabin. It sounds exactly like a helicopter blade moving in slow motion. Is it time to replace the fan clutch or something else?

Check all the pulleys...
 

specially the air condition compressor. Get a mechanic's stethoscope or a long screwdriver next to your ear and try to locate the noise origen. Becareful!!!
