Realigning a steering column

I bought my 450SEL used. Looks like it was in a collision at some point.

As a result, the steering column is a few degrees off center . . . as you look at the steering wheel straight on, it points 5 degrees or so toward the left rear tire, rather than straight back toward the rear of the car (hope I'm explaining this clearly ).

I'd like to correct this misalignment. Any opinions on what needs to be done? My mechanical skills are average.

Thanks for any help

If I recall correctly, this series of cars does have an angel in the steering column. I believe this is correct.

Others?

My MB steering column has a slight angle to the left. Never been in an accd't. Came that way. Probably why so many of our driver's seats lean to the left after a zillion miles.
