C220 Climate Control

I have been told by the my Mercedes dealer that I have to replace the climate control unit in my 1995 C220 because it keeps doing things like changing the temperature, turning itself off, changing blower speeds, etc. Is this something that I could do myself? I can purchase a rebuilt unit but I do not know how difficult a task it would be to put it in.

There was a "programming" update that we did to those climate control units BUT doubt that anyone at dealer would remember how. SERVICE campaign bulletin # 95-0801 August 1995.
Replacement is simple & takes about 30-45 minutes.
