Blown head gasket.

I hope I am wrong but, your car is known for that problem. Have you check the oil?

This is a typical symptom of a faulty head gasket.
If you intend to buy the car, insist on a fix before you buy or deduct $2,000. from the purchase price.

Had oil residue in the tank of my TE when I bought it. Took it off and cleaned it up about a thousand miles ago and no oil has resurfaced. So maybe it was fixed before I bought it and no one cleaned the tank. Maybe I got lucky.
