Just want to say hello!

I am new to your forum but have been reading some threads for about two years, so I wanted to join. So many threads have helped me fix my own cars I hope I can help some of you. I share a love for Mercedes Benz like all of you do. I have had some great older ones that have been fun to fix up. My favorite one is my 89 300 SEL. It has 163k on it and has never had paint work! I swear it runs as good as any new S-class. Well thats me if your want to know who the terminator is.

Hello!

I vouch for the greatness of the 126. Best of its class ever.

Question Hello Terminator

Hello Terminator,

I'm new to this board and to M-B. I recently purchased a 1994 E320 with 112,000 miles that was well cared for by a dealer in another state. I have all of the service records and was very familiar with car because I bought it from my uncle. I'm also in CLT, NC and wondered if you know of a good independent M-B shop? I plan to do as much work as possible, but I want to be prepared when something comes up that I can't handle. I posted a question on the "Good Shops" Forum but haven't received any replies. I really love this car and am looking forward to some upgrades (keyless entry, CD Changer & spkrs, etc.). Thanks, ddb

Thanks for the welcome. Ddb I work for Beck imports so I service my own car or have one of my favorite techs do it for me. As far as a great independent service center, I have heard people say good things about MBV service center or Charlotte star. I have not had any work done by either center. About ten years ago when I bought my first Mercedes (86 560 SEL) I had it serviced at Dilworth foreign car service, great people but I had the most trouble with it when I took it there. JH our C240W is my wifes car. We both love it, its real smooth and has some neat gizmos on it. But I'm old school and like the old Benzs the best. When we take a road trip I want to drive my 300 SEL, she wants to drive her C240W. We go to the mountains alot and the C240 handles better around the curves(as it should with a smaller wheel base).
